Donald Lee Douglas
Donald Lee Douglas, 84, of Clarksburg passed away on October 15, 2020 after a brief illness.
He was a 1954 graduate of Washington Irving High School and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College where he played basketball and ran track. Don worked for Bell Atlantic Phone Company for 35 years. He and his wife, Dianne co-owned Arby’s Restaurant in the Meadowbrook Mall for 25 years. After retirement he began a second career as a realtor with Mountain State Real Estate for 16 years. There, he worked alongside his wife, Dianne and enjoyed helping others in their search for a home and loved his Mountain State Real Estate family.
He loved West Virginia and was an avid enthusiast of the beauty and splendor of the state. He cherished spending time in the mountains fishing and joyfully shared his favorite fishing spots with friends and family. He was passionate about his community and has been involved in many civic activities throughout his life, including the Clarksburg Planning Commission and serving on the Harrison County Senior Citizens Board. He and his wife loved their friends and spent many evenings with the Skyview Drive Garden Club.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie Carpenter Douglas Aiello and Pete Aiello and Donald D. Douglas.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dianne Maltba Young Douglas; children Pamela Clarke (Ron) of Bear, Delaware; Jeff Douglas (Bea) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Nancy Hansen (Kendall) of Layton, Utah; Shahn Douglas and fiancé (Mark Andelbradt) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Chris Young (Amy) of Philippi, West Virginia; Kacey Douglas (Scott McConnell) of Three Rivers, Michigan, many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his two furbabies, Violet and Little Guy.
