Barry Dean Norman
Barry Dean Norman, 63, of Erlanger, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. He was surrounded by his family and the love of his life, Therese. Born in Akron, OH, on May 21, 1958, he was the son of the late Argyl and Wilma Norman. Barry was a 1976 graduate of Revere High School in Bath, OH. He went on to become a Mercedes Benz Master Technician. He worked in this field for 40 years finishing his career with Mercedes Benz of West Chester, Ohio. While working with Mercedes Benz, Barry competed and was awarded a spot as one of the best 40 mechanics in the U.S. and was flown to Germany for the Award Ceremony where he received red carpet treatment. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast. He competed in the Iron Butt Rally Motorcycle Challenge. Barry competed in this challenge twice, coming in 2nd place in 1986 and 1st place in 1987, where he traveled 12,773 miles in 12 days around the perimeter of the United States. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, taking his dogs to the beach and parks, and watching the Cleveland Browns or Cavaliers play. Barry worked for the Cleveland Cavalier's for over 20 years as a Manager of Guest Services at The Coliseum and Gund Arena. He also enjoyed exploring new restaurants, trying new things and traveling. Barry's generosity was one of his best traits. He was always willing to help out his friends. But it didn't stop there, he made many friends from the strangers he helped along the way. Barry lived by the motto, "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey." Barry is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years: Therese Murphy; son: Keith (Allison) Norman; sisters: Cindy Norman and Jan (Greg) Phillips; nephews and nieces: Russell (Sarah) Short; Danah Phillips; Kelly Phillips; Gregory (Mary-Ann) Phillips; Anna Phillips Conrad; Benjamin Phillips, and his dogs: Rambo, Wrangler and Renegade.
