
Ralph Augustus Maltba


Ralph A. Maltba, 73, of Chub Run community, diesd at 4:05 P.M. on Sunday, Dec. 1, at United Hospital Center. He was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Valdese, NC, a son of the late Jesse Maltba and Augustine Jacuamin Maltba.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise Norman Maltba; three daughters, Mrs. Mark (Sharon) McCoy, Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Don (Dianne) Douglas, Clarksburg, and Mrs. Richard (Beth) Algood, Lawton, OK; one son, James Ralph Maltba, Grantsville, MD; four grandsons, Christopher Young, Joshua and Jason McCoy, and Drew Maltba; three granddaughters, Kacey Douglas, Sara Algood and Taylor Maltba; two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Cody Young; one brother, Grady Maltba, and one sister, Lydia Morgan, both of Valdese, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and an infant son.
Mr. Maltba retired from P.P.G. Glass Company Works No. 12 in Stonewood and was the former owner of Arby's Restaurant at the Meadowbrook Mall. He was Methodist and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
