Mary Louise Maltba
Mrs. Mary Louise Norman Maltba, age 72, of 85 Chub Run Road, Mount Clare, died at 1:50 P.M. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at United Hospital Center following a sudden illness. She was born on March 13, 1929, in Mount Clare, a daughter of the late Bryan Elias Norman and Verna Fox Norman. Her husband, Ralph Agustus Maltba, whom she married on Aug. 1, 1946, preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1996.

Surviving are one son and a daughter-in-law, James Ralph Maltba and Mary Jane, Grantsville, MD; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Mark (Sharon) McCoy, Ridgley, Mrs. Donald (Dianne) Douglas, Clarksburg, and Mrs. Richard (Beth) Algood, Lawton, OK; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Kenneth "Kenny" Norman and Betty, Chester, SC, James A. Norman and Shelva, Chub Run, Bryan Junior Norman and Judy, New Point, NC, Bernard L. Norman and Sonnie, Chub Run; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Agnes Norman, Lenoir, NC, Pauline "Polly" Cook and Richard, Brownsburg, IN; seven grandchildren, Christopher Young, Joshua McCoy, Kacey Douglas, Sara Dew, Taylor Maltba and Drew Maltba; three great-grandchildren, Victoria Young, Cody Young and Hannah Young; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend, Chet Barnard. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ralph Maltba, Jr., and three brothers, Argyl C. Norman, Richard E. Norman and William Keith Norman.

Mrs. Maltba attended the Quiet Dell United Methodist Church, where she was active with the Quiet Dell United Methodist Women. Also, she was a member of the Quiet Dell Garden Club. Mrs. Maltba worked at the Maidenform Co. in previous years and later became a registered nurse, working at Broaddus Hospital, Philippi, and the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, where she retired.
